Economics, Game Theory, Computer Science, Sports Studies
I am a Head of Laboratory of Sports Studies and an Associate Professor of Mathematics at HSE University, and also a Senior Lecturer in Economics at New Economic School. My professional interests revolve around Game Theory and Computer Science which I view as the main tools to change the sports industry. My primary research field is tournament design including scheduling, optimization of competitive balance, and incentive compatibility analysis. I apply matching theory to improve referee assignments in sports leagues. Also, I study decision-making in sports: I reveal behavioral biases of athletes, referees, bettors, and analyze the properties of collective decision-making in juries and committees.
