In my childhood, I was studying at a chess school and reached the FIDE rating 2156. Nowadays, I play chess for fun at lichess.org and chess.com. In July 2023, I played in a professional tournament for the first time in 15 years. In 2016, I was honored to give a sci-pop lecture at the Candidates tournament for the World Chess Championship match.

I am an active member of the Olympiad science movement for college students. Currently, I am the head of the jury of the National Olympiad in Economics. Working with talented students and searching for non-trivial solutions to economic problems are my passions. In 2017, I proposed the idea of the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) which takes place annually starting from 2018.

My favorite books are Notre-Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo, Goethe's Faust, and The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. I am also a fan of documentary literature and cinema. My favorite music genre is musicals, with Notre-Dame de Paris, Les Miserables, and Les Parapluies de Cherbourg at the top of my personal chart. By the way, Belle from Notre-Dame de Paris is my ringphone for nearly 20 years.
